Under normal conditions, I would have written a short piece encouraging members of the Lansdowne congregation to pick up an Easter to Harvest box to be returned, not surprisingly, at our Harvest Festival services or shortly afterwards. This year, I encourage those who support Christian Aid in this way to put aside, physically or mentally, money for the collection over the intervening weeks so that it can ‘returned’ to church at what I trust will have been a resumption of normal services by the end of September.
This support for Christian Aid is a significant proportion of the church’s overall giving – in 2019, the overall benefit to Christian Aid was in excess of £730 – so please do not let it be forgotten in these difficult times.
