We have been supporting people who are blind and partially sighted since 1880. We are an entirely independent charity and have to raise all of our own funds to be able to provide our range of services. If you or someone you know is facing sight loss you don’t need to face it on your own, we are here to support you.
I am very new to sight loss and plucked up the courage to ring you and I’m so glad I did. Every single member of staff or volunteer has been so wonderfully helpful and reassuring. This means so much.

Participate in our engaging themed activities. Experience the challenges of vision impairment through blindfolded activities and immerse yourself in sensory-rich experiences. From our Bright for Sight day to blindfold dinners or walks, and Sing for Sight performances, there’s an event suited to all.
We offer a wide range of volunteer roles to suit individual interests and skills.
You’ll find some examples of roles below, or if you have different skills to offer, we’d love to talk to you about how you can help in a new role. Whether it’s walking a dog, becoming a telephone or face-to-face companion, or helping out with office admin or gardening, we have something to suit everyone. If you don’t find an opportunity which suits you, we would encourage you to get in touch and let us know the types of things you would enjoy doing.
